TO WHAT PURPOSE

(Does anyone ever find the answers they are looking for?  Where is the repository?  Who the authority? OR, does it really matter at all?  dht-22 OCT 2011)

  

WHAT personal destiny floats on my Horizon?
WHAT purpose was I born to fulfill?
WHAT path will my footsteps take me?
WHAT hurdles lay in the road on my Journey?

So many questions --

as I wander through Life –

Always searching for the answers –

Yet always blind to the answers.

NOW I see --

   it's NOT TO WHAT PURPOSE –

BUT --

    it's       TO THE JOURNEY itself !

Where hide the demons of bygone days

What magic hastened their exodus

When domains expanse call

Why answers memory's pall

Fixed gait assures thy place

Though unsure of future's hold

Remote the past behind  

Removes for the beyond

Likely cousins but far displaced

Loves unsung flight follows aloof

Be gone ye demons

Depart to other shores

Your yesterdays had their ups-and-downs, but this is a new day with new challenges.

When remembering the past, why do you mourn?

Keep yourself 'centered' and 'stay your course', and the rest in the future will take care of itself.

The yesterdays are gone, so let them 'go', so you have room in your 'noodle' to think about today and even your tomorrows.

Your relationships are distant and must be carried on via telephone, US Mail, internet, and/or FACEBOOK.

Steps to the Rest of My Life

Today I will pause on the way to tomorrow,
and I’ll reflect on yesterday.

I’ll examine the reasons for my pain and my sorrow-
determine which debts I must pay!

I’ll retrace the steps that led me to this-
this cold place of darkness and fear!

And I’ll slay the dragons - if they still exist -
and the demons that invited me here!

I’ll leave them in ashes and never look back-
get rid of the pain and the strife!

I’ll tentatively take my first steps to the future-
those steps to the rest of my life!
